Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of JamFILE and the DAS AutoFiler service, operated by Dependent Media. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Service Description

DAS AutoFiler is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) tool that helps California public works contractors generate Department of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS) forms, pre-lien notices, and lien waiver documents. The Service auto-fills PDF forms using data you provide, including data synced from third-party services such as QuickBooks Online.

2. Account Registration

You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You will not use the Service to generate fraudulent or illegal documents, attempt to circumvent security measures or credit systems, share account credentials with unauthorized parties, or use automated tools beyond normal usage.

4. Credits and Payments

Certain features require credits or an active subscription. Credits are non-refundable except as described in our Refund and Returns Policy. Generating and previewing forms is free; credits are consumed when you download, email, or mail completed documents.

5. QuickBooks Online Integration

The Service may connect to your QuickBooks Online account via OAuth 2.0. By connecting, you authorize us to read your company profile, customer, vendor, estimate, and invoice data for the purpose of auto-filling forms. We do not modify or write data to your QuickBooks account. You may disconnect at any time. Your QuickBooks data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored securely.

6. USPS Mailing

The Service offers optional USPS mailing through a third-party provider (Lob). Mailing is subject to additional per-letter credit charges. We are not responsible for delivery delays or postal service issues.

7. Data Ownership

You retain ownership of all data you provide. We do not claim ownership of your data.

8. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. Non-subscriber accounts may be subject to automatic cleanup after a retention period. You may request deletion by contacting us.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED AS IS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT GENERATED DOCUMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED BY ANY GOVERNMENT AGENCY. You are responsible for reviewing all forms for accuracy before submission.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DEPENDENT MEDIA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dependent Media from any claims arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Modifications

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for violations. You may terminate at any time by contacting us.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by California law. Disputes shall be resolved in Sacramento County courts.
